About University Park, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Will County, Illinois, University Park is a village located outside of Chicago. As of 2010, the community had approximately 7,200 residents, and it is home to Governors State University. This village is one of the few planned communities in the region, and it was known as Wood Hill and Park Forest South before finally receiving its current name. University Park is situated on the Valparaiso Moraine, which also serves as the Eastern Continental Divide.

Despite the modest size of University Park, there are several things to do in this community. The Nathan Manilow Sculpture Garden features nearly 30 sculptures on open prairie land, and the Thorn Creek Woods Nature Preserve features numerous outdoor recreational opportunities. Golf is available at the Deer Creek Golf Course, and attractions are also available through Governors State University, including the performances held at the Center for Performing Arts.

When planning a visit to University Park, it is important to know that the community experiences variable weather conditions. During the spring, weather is typically rainy and cool, and this leads to muggy and hot summers. Temperatures will range from the high-70s to the mid-90s, with thermostat readings that exceed 90 degrees approximately 20 days per year. Thunderstorms are also quite common during the season, and residents will rely on their air conditioning units to stay comfortable throughout the summer.

Autumn months in University Park tend to be pleasant with decreasing humidity, and HVAC professionals in the area recommend that residents use this time to prepare their furnaces for the approaching winter months. Temperatures will plummet as the winter weather sets in, and daily highs may only reach the mid-20s on average. A reliable furnace system will give residents the peace of mind that they’ll stay safe despite the cold weather that Mother Nature brings their way.
